Job summary

SpaceX in Bastrop, TX is hiring an Electrical Engineer to support Energy Infrastructure & Generation initiatives.

You will lead the engineering and construction of temporary and permanent power generation plants, oversee commissioning, and develop maintenance programs to improve reliability. This on-site role requires a PE license in Texas or eligibility and a proactive, safety-focused mindset.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or related field.
3+ years of experience in electrical engineering focused on power generation.
Preferred: PE license in Texas.

Responsibilities

Lead construction of power generation plants (gas/diesel, solar, hybrid) to meet facility energy demands.
Oversee build, commissioning, and integration with site power distribution.
Develop maintenance programs including predictive schedules.
Perform load forecasting and energy modeling for cost and efficiency.
Collaborate with utilities on interconnections and tariffs.
Drive on-site generation and microgrid solutions for resilience.
Ensure safety and regulatory compliance; coordinate with contractors.
Support budgeting and reporting of generation performance.
