Job summary

SpaceX in Bastrop, TX seeks an Electrical Engineer to join the Energy Infrastructure & Generation group. You will design, build, and commission on-site and temporary power generation systems, integrating generators, solar, storage and hybrid setups to meet facility energy needs.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering.
3+ years of experience in electrical engineering, focusing on power generation design, construction or maintenance.
PE license in Texas or eligibility to obtain one.

Responsibilities

Lead the engineering and construction of power generation plants (gas/diesel generators, gas turbines, solar arrays, hybrids).
Oversee build and commissioning of generation infrastructure with site power distribution and utility feeds.
Develop maintenance programs for power systems, with predictive maintenance schedules and upgrades.
Perform load forecasting, energy modeling and optimization for cost/efficiency.
Collaborate with utility providers for grid interconnections and on-site generation interconnection.
Troubleshoot and repair power generation equipment, ensuring safety and regulatory compliance.
Drive integration of energy storage and renewables into permanent generation plants.
Develop long-term facility load ramps with teams for energy procurement and expansion.
