Job summary

VAA, an engineering, planning and design firm, is seeking an Entry-Level Electrical Engineer to join our hybrid/onsite team. You will help design power distribution, lighting, and controls for commercial and industrial facilities while learning from experienced professionals.

Graduating in December 2026 or May 2027, you will develop calculations, drawings, and specifications, visit construction sites, and grow your skills across electrical design codes and software.

Your Role

Ready to take electrical engineering beyond the classroom? VAA's Electrical team designs power distribution and lighting systems for commercial buildings and industrial and agribusiness facilities. Projects include building power, energy-efficient lighting and controls, emergency and standby power, medium- and low-voltage power, raceways and hazardous-area classifications.

Working under the direction of a Project or Senior Engineer, you'll have opportunities to:

• Develop electrical design solutions using engineering fundamentals and problem-solving skills
• Prepare calculations, drawings, specifications and other design documents
• Build your knowledge of electrical design codes and industry standards
• Gain experience using electrical engineering and design software
• Collaborate with engineers, designers and other VAA disciplines
• Visit construction sites, observe work in the field and prepare reports
• Take on more complex work and responsibility as your skills grow

Potential travel:

Up to 10% to construction jobsites.
