VAA in Minneapolis is seeking an Entry-Level Electrical Engineer. You will collaborate with experienced engineers, contribute to client projects and build technical and professional skills designing electrical systems that power commercial and industrial facilities.

Travel up to 10% to construction sites; starting salary range is $69,000-$85,000 with benefits including health, dental and vision insurance, life insurance, 401(k) and discretionary bonus program.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• Graduating in December 2026 or May 2027, or recently graduated.
• Strong problem-solving skills and a willingness to learn.
• Interest in electrical systems and multidisciplinary project work.

Responsibilities

• Develop electrical design solutions using engineering fundamentals and problem-solving skills.
• Prepare calculations, drawings, specifications and other design documents.
• Build knowledge of electrical design codes and industry standards.
• Gain experience using electrical engineering and design software.
• Collaborate with engineers, designers and other VAA disciplines.
• Visit construction sites and observe work in the field.

Your Role

Ready to take electrical engineering beyond the classroom? VAA's Electrical team designs power distribution and lighting systems for commercial buildings and industrial and agribusiness facilities. Projects include building power, energy-efficient lighting and controls, emergency and standby power, medium- and low-voltage power, raceways and hazardous-area classifications.

Working under the direction of a Project or Senior Engineer, you'll have opportunities to:

• Develop electrical design solutions using engineering fundamentals and problem-solving skills
• Prepare calculations, drawings, specifications and other design documents
• Build your knowledge of electrical design codes and industry standards
• Gain experience using electrical engineering and design software
• Collaborate with engineers, designers and other VAA disciplines
• Visit construction sites, observe work in the field and prepare reports
• Take on more complex work and responsibility as your skills grow

Potential travel:

Up to 10% to construction jobsites.
