Job summary

Salas O’Brien in Bethesda, MD seeks an Electrical Engineer to join the design team for Fed-FloridaBusinessUnit projects. You will contribute to interior/exterior lighting, power distribution, life safety, and field support, reporting to the Director of Electrical Design Operations.

The role emphasizes documentation, quality control, and cross-team collaboration, with travel up to 25% and a base salary between $100,000 and $125,000 plus bonus potential.

Qualifications

• BS Electrical Engineering from ABET-accredited program.
• 5+ years of professional Electrical Engineering experience.
• EIT certification required; PE certification preferred.
• Proficient in Microsoft 365 applications.
• Knowledge of ASCE/ASHRAE/ICC/ASTM/UFC codes; LEED/AFMAN/SSMAN knowledge preferred.

Responsibilities

• Project work with 85-90% direct billable utilization.
• Support engineering teams from concept design to testing; ensure deliverables meet standards.
• Maintain comprehensive project documentation (design specs, test plans, progress reports).
• Communicate with customers, contractors and project teams promptly.
• Perform site design, permitting, assessments, and construction management.
• Adhere to PMI and QC programs; follow Project Management Plans.
• Coordinate with Engineer of Record/Design Lead and Project Manager.
• Ensure adherence to Fed-Florida quality control standards.
