Job summary

Salas O’Brien is seeking an Electrical Engineer for our Fed‑Florida group in Merritt Island, FL. This on‑site role designs lighting, power distribution, and life safety systems for complex campus and industrial projects, with opportunities to influence projects from concept through construction.

You will work under the Director of Electrical Design Operations, performing arc‑flash studies, short circuit analyses, and coordination with EOR and project teams.

Qualifications

• BS Electrical Engineering degree from ABET-accredited program.
• 5+ years professional electrical engineering experience.
• EIT certification required; PE preferred but not required.
• Proficient in Microsoft 365 applications.
• Working knowledge of ASCE, ASHRAE, ICC, ASTM, UFC; preference for LEED/IBC knowledge.
• Experience with CAD, Revit, Bluebeam Revu or similar tools.

Responsibilities

• Interior/exterior lighting and power distribution design for campuses and industrial sites.
• Arc flash studies with incident energy analysis and mitigation recommendations.
• Low voltage distribution, emergency/standby power, lighting controls, and data infrastructure support.
• Construction administration, site design, permitting, and project documentation.
• Coordinate with EOR/Design Lead/PM; adhere to PMP and QC programs.
