Essential Duties/Principal Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, optimize and maintain power, analog and digital hardware designs to meet performance, reliability, efficiency and safety standards.
  • Perform technical feasibility studies, architecture designs, write specifications and test requirements to support manufacturing, assembly and regulatory requirements.
  • Perform schematic entry and PCB layouts to meet creepage, clearance, thermal and EMC requirements.
  • Design and evaluate thermal management systems for power electronics designs.
  • Conduct simulations, prototyping, and validation testing as necessary to meet project schedule, design objectives and industry standards.
  • Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for hardware and firmware-related issues.
  • Collaborate with embedded firmware developers to ensure seamless integration and optimal power performance.
  • Conduct FMEA and risk assessment activities.
  • Collaborate with product management, external customers, marketing, and sales as needed to gather insights and guidance on requirements for new products.
  • Be proactive in understanding emerging technologies and trends in the industry and how to apply these technologies to drive innovation.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or a related field (master’s degree preferred).
  • 5-8 Years of experience in designing electronic power systems products and/or electronic products.
  • Proven experience in hardware design, including power circuits and low power systems.
  • Proficiency with design tools such as Altium Designer, OrCAD, PSIM, PLECS or similar.
  • Strong knowledge of power electronics, analog/digital circuit design, and electromagnetic interference (EMI) mitigation.
  • Strong knowledge of modern power electronics architectures such as VFD’s, active front ends and power factor correction circuits.
  • Hands-on experience with embedded firmware development, including coding in C/C++ and debugging on microcontrollers.
  • Ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams to achieve project objectives.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
