Job summary

Tesla Laboratories. Inc. is seeking an Electrical Engineer to support NAVFAC Northwest Design Division, focusing on electrical design for Design-Bid-Build and Design-Build projects in the Puget Sound region.

The role involves producing calculations, layouts, and drawings aligned with NEC and internal standards. Candidates should have a 4-year engineering degree and at least 6 years of design management experience; a U.S. PE license is desirable but not required.

Qualifications

• Education: Graduate of an accredited Engineering college curriculum (4-year degree minimum).
• Experience: Minimum of 6 years of Design Management and/or Design experience performing the tasks described above.
• P.E. license: Highly desirable but not required (electrical discipline).
• Demonstrated knowledge of engineering principles across multi-disciplinary project design.

Responsibilities

• Design calculations for electrical services, transformers, and secondary distribution.
• Lighting calculations and layouts; specify fixtures.
• Develop AutoCAD drawings; edit NEC-based specifications.
• Coordinate with NAVFAC/NAVFAC NW team; manage schedules & budget execution.
• Create project dashboards using Power BI, Project, Excel, etc.
• Review designs, RFIs, and submittals for compliance and cost proposals.
• Provide technical reviews and written minutes for meetings.
