Job summary

Craftsmen Industries is hiring an Electrical Engineer in St. Charles, MO to plan, design, lay out and support electrical systems for custom trailers, trucks, and containers. The role interfaces with engineering and the shop floor to drive new products from concept through installation.

You will develop load calculations, schematics and documentation, coordinate with customers, and help standardize practices while ensuring safety and quality in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
• 2–4 years of experience designing AC/DC distribution systems for commercial modular or similar applications.
• 2–4 years of shop manufacturing/construction experience.
• Proficiency in CAD/BIM tools such as Revit, AutoCAD or equivalent.
• Working knowledge of NFPA 70 and NFPA 101.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Maintain ongoing communication with engineering to align goals and issues.
• Provide technical direction to shop floor to ensure manufacturing alignment.
• Develop electrical load calculations and power distribution documentation.
• Create block diagrams, schematics, and layouts from input requirements.
• Support customer interactions including meetings, design reviews and site visits.
• Help standardize electrical design practices, documentation and processes.
• Design and support systems compliant with safety standards and company policies.
• Promote safety and work with shop floor to ensure safe installation and operation.
