Job summary

Southern States, LLC is seeking an Electrical Engineer I to act as the primary liaison between electrical design, mobile design and production teams. The role focuses on documenting, communicating, and validating electrical information throughout pre-production, production and post-production phases.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Minimum of 5 years of design experience in the electric power industry.
• Fundamental understanding of power systems and substation design.
• Ability to create and edit AutoCAD Electrical Drawings.
• Knowledge and experience with electrical relays, protection, and control.

Responsibilities

• Engineer will work alongside Electrical/Design teams to consult on HV equipment locations and post-installation accessibility.
• Ensure drawings are up-to-date with revisions and obsolete designs are not followed.
• Lead in receiving and evaluating proposed changes to electrical drawings.
• Assist in communicating changes to customers and evaluating feedback.
• Design efficient layouts for routing conduits and junction boxes before installation.
• Update drawings in AutoCAD to match As-Built Mobile.
• Troubleshoot electrical wiring/design problems during Mobile Production.
• Assist in defining specifications for electrical devices needed during production.
• Coordinate with third-party test groups and verify wiring and device layouts.
