Job summary

Leidos is seeking an Electrical Engineer for the FAA NISC program in Des Plaines, IL. You will design electrical systems for FAA buildings, conduct on-site surveys, and coordinate with multi-disciplinary teams to produce drawings, specifications, and cost estimates.

Qualifications include a bachelor’s in electrical engineering (or power-related) with 4+ years of experience or a master's with 2+ years, arc flash proficiency, and AutoCAD skills. Travel up to 25% may be required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or power-related degree from an accredited college/university with 4+ years of relevant experience, or a Master’s with 2+ years.
  • Experience conducting and interpreting arc flash studies.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and ability to organize documentation.
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and design electrical systems for FAA buildings and structures.
  • Perform on-site surveys to develop to-scale designs and detailed reports.
  • Create sketches showing installation locations with exact specifications.
  • Test and analyze power systems and participate in inspections.
  • Coordinate design components with a multi-disciplinary team and generate drawings.
  • Prepare site-specific specifications, contract documents, and cost estimates.
  • Generate risk management checklists and project risk registers.
