Job summary

Leidos is seeking an Electrical Engineer for the National Airspace Systems Integration Support (NISC) program in Des Plaines, IL. The role supports FAA central engineering services, planning, design, and construction oversight for electrical systems across multiple FAA facilities.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering and experience with arc-flash analyses, AutoCAD, and documentation systems, with up to 25% travel and eligibility for a Public Trust clearance.

Qualifications

  • Experience in conducting and interpreting arc flash studies.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and organization of documentation.
  • Proficiency with AUTOCAD and ability to develop drawings.
  • Eligibility for Public Trust Security Clearance (U.S. citizen or green card holder).

Responsibilities

  • Plan and design electrical systems for FAA buildings and structures.
  • Perform on-site surveys to develop to-scale designs and detailed reports.
  • Generate sketches showing relation of installations with exact specs and dimensions.
  • Test power systems and participate in construction inspections and final checks.
  • Coordinate design components with a multi-disciplinary team and generate drawings and schematics.
  • Prepare site-specific construction drawings, specifications and contract documents.
