Job summary

Base Power Company is seeking an Electrical Engineer to lead end-to-end design of energy storage systems, including inverters, batteries, and interconnect devices, from schematic to production and field deployment.

You will work on high voltage designs, embedded hardware, and validation across board and system levels in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. This role involves wiring, debugging, and bringing products to high-volume manufacturing.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline, or equivalent experience.
• Digital and analog circuit design, including high voltage circuits or power supply design.
• Printed circuit board design (Altium) and initial bring-up: debugging, soldering, wiring, mechanical assembly.
• Familiarity with embedded firmware, microcontrollers and their peripherals, python scripting or similar.
• Familiarity with lab equipment including oscilloscopes, function generators, power supplies.
• Experience with power semiconductors (MOSFETs, IGBTs).
• Knowledge of electric motors, thermal design, and/or mechanical design.
• Experience with automotive networking (CAN, LIN, Ethernet).
• Basic control theory, including importance of sensor bandwidths, filtering.

Responsibilities

• End-to-end ownership of energy storage systems (inverter, battery, Microgrid interconnect device) designs including specifications, architecture, schematic capture, PCB layout, board bring up, validation, and overseeing reliability and functional testing.
• Collaboration with cross functional teams (mechanical, firmware, test, reliability etc.) to see products through high volume manufacturing.
• Design and execute high voltage and high current validation of inverter, battery and BMS designs.
• Debug complex component interactions at the system level.
