Job summary
AMEWAS, Inc. is seeking a dedicated Electrical Engineer (EMI)—Journeyman to support Electromagnetic Environmental Effects. The role focuses on EMI/EMC testing and system validation in a DoD environment at Patuxent River, MD.
This on-site position requires a DoD Secret clearance upon onboarding and offers a strong career path in a high-tech defense setting. Ideal candidates will have a Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering, 3 years of experience, and hands-on work with EMI/RF lab equipment.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
- 3 years of relevant work experience.
- Experience with EMI/RF lab test equipment (Spectrum Analyzer, Oscilloscope, Receivers, Antennas, Amplifiers, Multimeters).
- Experience reading schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical drawings.
- Experience performing basic electrical troubleshooting and analysis.
- Proficiency Windows OS and Microsoft Office.
Responsibilities
- Supports EMI/EMC testing per MIL-STD-461 standards.
- Prepares and conducts EMI/EMC tests.
- Installs System Under Test (SUT) in shielded enclosure per test plan.
- Verifies SUT operation and defines failure criteria.
- Develops test documentation and presents results to customers.
