Harmar Mobility seeks an Electrical Engineer in Sarasota, FL to design, prototype, and bring to production electronics for mobility devices. You will define concepts, test reliability, and collaborate with suppliers and customers to ensure compliance and manufacturability.

Qualifications

• 4-5 years experience in an electrical engineering role.
• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering required.
• Strong planning/organizational skills with ability to manage projects and multi-task.
• Evidence of technical problem solving and ability to develop solutions for a fast-paced product development environment.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with customers, suppliers and internal teams.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain electronics for medical devices including definition, prototyping, testing and debugging.
• Evaluate concepts for function, manufacturability, packaging and material handling.
• Generate prototypes and perform testing to ensure specs and timing objectives.
• Develop cost analyses from design through production launch to maximize product value.
• Lead special projects evaluating new processes and technologies.
• Provide technical support for electronic product quality problems.
• Improve electronics development process to ensure quality and faster time-to-market.
• Ensure electrical safety compliance (FDA, CE, UL, NEC, FCC) and coordinate testing.
• Select and standardize key components; manage engineering documentation in DCD.
• Cover major design areas: batteries, PCBs, embedded systems, motors; EMI/ESD considerations.
• Decide insourcing vs subcontracting of electronics activities; manage internal testing resources.
• Evaluate electrical systems by designing research programs and testing methods.
