Electrical Engineer (MEP)

Location: Tampa, FL

Term: Direct Hire

We’re looking for a technically driven Electrical Engineer to join a growing MEP consultancy supporting commercial and retail projects nationwide. Based in Tampa, FL, this is a strong opportunity to contribute to end-to-end building systems design in a fast-paced, collaborative team environment.

You’ll work closely with a licensed PE and take ownership of electrical design packages across lighting, power, fire alarm, and low-voltage systems—helping deliver high-performance, code-compliant solutions across a diverse project base.

The Electrical Engineer’s responsibilities will include:

• Design of electrical systems for commercial, retail, higher education, hospitality, and food & beverage spaces
• Power distribution and lighting systems design, including lighting photometric calculations
• Development of fire alarm and low voltage systems, grounding, and hazardous area classification
• Use of AutoCAD, and Revit for drawing and modeling; SKM/ETAP for power studies
• Field inspections, site surveys, and client coordination throughout project lifecycle
• Drafting and preparing construction documentation and specifications
• Collaboration with architects, vendors, contractors, and internal MEP teams

The Electrical Engineer will ideally have:

• 3+ years of electrical design experience in commercial/MEP projects
• B.S. in Electrical Engineering (EIT preferred)
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and electrical analysis software (SKM/ETAP)
• Familiarity with NEC, NFPA 70/72/101, and energy code compliance
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work directly with clients and project stakeholders
• Experience with Lighting Design software.
