About the Role

As an Electrical Engineer in Training (EIT) at xAI, you’ll support the design, evaluation, and maintenance of electrical systems in our facilities. Working onsite with experienced engineers and multidisciplinary teams, you’ll address challenges to ensure our power systems are reliable, safe, and scalable. You will learn quickly, contribute to technical solutions, and support xAI’s mission to advance scientific discovery through AI.

Responsibilities

1. Infrastructure Design & Planning

• Participate in design meetings for electrical systems in new data centers, providing input under supervision.
• Assist in feasibility studies and developing specifications for system components.
• Support design and construction, including permitting, under guidance.

System Implementation

• Support installation of power distribution units, UPS, cooling units, and other infrastructure.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and policies, with oversight.

Operations & Maintenance

• Assist in managing maintenance schedules for electrical systems.
• Contribute to troubleshooting to minimize downtime and improve reliability.

Capacity Management

• Support analysis and forecasting of power needs.
• Assist in implementing energy efficiency and cost-saving strategies.

Team Interaction

• Collaborate with senior engineers and team members, seeking guidance and contributing.
• Foster a culture of continuous learning and improvement.

Project Coordination

• Support project management from conception to commissioning.
• Coordinate with vendors, contractors, and internal teams to meet deadlines.

Compliance & Safety

• Ensure work complies with regulations, under supervision.
• Promote safety protocols and a safe working environment.

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Engineer in Training (EIT) certification required.
• 2-4 years of relevant experience in data center operations or electrical engineering.
• Basic knowledge of data center electrical systems.
• Proficient with AutoCAD, Revit, Bluebeam, SKM.
• Interest in project management and large-scale data center projects.
