Job summary

Sacramento Municipal Utility District is seeking an Electrical Engineer, Entry, to support distributed energy resources planning and transportation electrification initiatives. Under supervision, you will assist in problem resolution and project assignments across the DER/TE/DR domains.

Responsibilities include modeling feeder impacts, performing basic analyses, assisting in interconnection reviews, and helping maintain technical documents and MOPs under guidance of senior staff.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from an accredited college or university.
• 1+ year of progressively responsible experience in design, construction, and/or maintenance of electrical systems for electric utility assets; SMUD internship experience acceptable.

Responsibilities

• Assist in DER planning and projects for TE & DR, including modeling, forecasting, and system planning.
• Support engineering tasks for EV infrastructure deployment and interconnection reviews.
• Assist with documenting engineering standards, specifications, and procedures for TE & DER integration.

1+ year electrical experience in power
