Job summary

DEFTEC Corporation seeks an experienced Electrical Engineer to lead comprehensive planning and design for substantial new construction, renovations, and facility upgrades. You will manage multi-phase projects, ensure contractor compliance, and coordinate with engineers, architects, and contracting officers across MILCON and O&M programs.

The role requires a ABET-accredited degree with at least 5 years of relevant experience and proficiency with CAD, GIS, and modeling tools.

Qualifications

• Must have a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
• At least 5 years of relevant electrical engineering experience.
• Professional knowledge of electrical engineering concepts and practices.
• Familiarity with architectural, mechanical, and structural disciplines is preferred.
• Proficiency in program planning, budgeting, and design documentation.
• Ability to conduct site surveys and analyze data for decisions.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive planning and design for multi-phase construction and renovation projects for real property facilities and complex utility systems.
• Manage surveillance over projects funded by MILCON and O&M with multiple contract vehicles; review change orders and provide technical guidance.
• Plan, program, budget, and execute engineering projects using cost-estimating tools and AFCAMP processes; ensure SMS validation.
• Serve as primary technical consultant and project coordinator with engineers, architects, planners, contracting officers, and external agents.
• Collect and analyze technical data using CAD, GIS, and modeling software to support data-driven decisions.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental codes throughout project delivery.
