Senior Electrical Engineer – Data Centers (Remote with travel to Amarillo ~Travel: 50–80% and/or relocation offered)

Apex Infrastructure Consultants is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to support hyperscale data center projects across a global portfolio. This role is focused on electrical design review, system evaluation, and technical execution across high-voltage (HV) and medium-voltage (MV) infrastructure, including substations and utility interconnections. This is a high-impact role working across design, construction, and operations in mission-critical environments.

What You’ll Do

• Review and guide electrical system design for hyperscale data centers
• Evaluate HV/MV infrastructure including substations, switchgear, transformers, and distribution systems
• Support utility interconnections and substation design up to 345kV
• Review single-line diagrams, engineering calculations, and system studies
• Provide technical direction to design consultants and engineering partners
• Identify design risks, gaps, and value engineering opportunities
• Support construction-phase issue resolution and engineering changes
• Analyze operational performance, incidents, and system reliability improvements
• Collaborate across electrical, mechanical, civil, and commissioning teams

Must-Have Experience

• Experience with data centers or mission-critical facilities
• Experience with medium and high-voltage systems including substations (100kV+)
• Experience reviewing or designing electrical distribution systems
• 5+ years of experience in design, construction, or commissioning environments

Nice to Have

• Experience with utility interconnections up to 345kV
• Professional Engineer (PE) license
• Experience performing power system studies or electrical analysis
• Familiarity with CAD, BIM, or electrical design tools
