Job summary

TYG is partnering with an industry-leading MEP firm expanding into Dallas, seeking an experienced electrical engineer to lead the new office.

You will develop power distribution and lighting designs for medium- and low-voltage systems, coordinate with other disciplines, and ensure NEC/NFPA/IBC compliance on mission-critical data center projects.

This role offers immediate responsibility and a path to shaping a growth-focused team within a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or related field.
• 0–7 years of electrical engineering design experience.
• E.I.T. certification preferred.
• PE licensure or progress toward licensure is a plus.
• Experience with mission-critical, industrial, or commercial projects preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop electrical power distribution and lighting designs for medium- and low-voltage systems.
• Design emergency and standby power solutions, including generators, UPS, and automatic transfer systems
• Complete electrical calculations, panel schedules, equipment sizing, and system studies
• Perform NEC, NFPA, IBC and local code reviews for compliance
• Conduct fault current, coordination, arc flash, voltage drop analyses
• Coordinate electrical designs with architectural, mechanical, structural and LV disciplines
• Review submittals, RFIs, and construction documentation
• Assist with QA/QC reviews to ensure complete deliverables

We have recently partnered with an industry-leading MEP firm in the mission critical and hyperscale data center space that is looking to open up a brand new Dallas office.

The east coast headquartered firm have rapidly established themselves in the industry and are growing at such a strong rate that they are now looking to expand into the Dallas market. Therefore, they are currently searching for an experienced electrical engineer to join this new team and help lead this office's regional growth.

This hire will be given the rare opportunity to join one of the quickest growing MEP firms in the data center market, whilst also taking on immediate responsibility and playing a key role in leading the direction of a new office. The firm is also very well positioned financially and this is reflected in how well they compensate their employees!

Duties/Responsibilities

• Develop electrical power distribution and lighting designs for medium- and low-voltage systems
• Design emergency and standby power solutions, including generators, UPS, and automatic transfer systems
• Complete electrical calculations, panel schedules, equipment sizing, and system studies
• Perform code reviews and ensure compliance with NEC, NFPA, IBC, and local requirements
• Conduct fault current, selective coordination, arc flash, voltage drop, and Neher-McGrath analyses
• Coordinate electrical designs with architectural, mechanical, structural, and low-voltage disciplines
• Review submittals, RFIs, and construction documentation
• Assist with QA/QC reviews to maintain accurate and complete project deliverables

Required Skills/Abilities

• Proficient in Autodesk Revit for electrical modeling and design
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and Outlook
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time-management skills
• Able to manage multiple assignments and meet project deadlines
• Effective written and verbal communication skills
• Comfortable working collaboratively in a fast-paced environment

Education & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field required
• 0–7 years of electrical engineering design experience
