Job summary

TYG seeks a senior electrical engineer to join its new Dallas office and help lead regional growth in the data center space. The role offers immediate responsibility in designing power distribution and lighting for mission-critical facilities.

You will oversee emergency power systems, perform design calculations, ensure NEC/NFPA/IBC compliance, and guide junior staff. A strong background in industrial/commercial projects and leadership abilities are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field required.
• 8+ years of electrical engineering design experience preferred.
• Extensive experience with power distribution, lighting, and emergency power systems.
• Experience with mission-critical, industrial, commercial, or similar projects preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead electrical power distribution and lighting design for medium- and low-voltage systems.
• Oversee emergency and standby power systems, including generators, UPS, and transfer equipment.
• Perform and review electrical calculations, equipment sizing, panel schedules, and system studies.
• Ensure compliance with NEC, NFPA, IBC, and applicable local codes.
• Review fault current, selective coordination, arc flash, voltage drop, and Neher-McGrath analyses.
• Review submittals, RFIs, construction documents, and technical deliverables.
• Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and QA/QC oversight.

The east coast headquartered firm have rapidly established themselves in the industry and are growing at such a strong rate that they are now looking to expand into the Dallas market. Therefore, they are currently searching for a senior electrical engineer to join this new team and help lead this office's regional growth.

This hire will be given the rare opportunity to join one of the quickest growing MEP firms in the data center market, whilst also taking on immediate responsibility and playing a key role in leading the direction of a new office. Duties/Responsibilities

• Lead electrical power distribution and lighting design for medium- and low-voltage systems

• Advanced proficiency in Autodesk Revit for electrical modeling and design

• Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
• Ability to lead and collaborate effectively in a fast-paced environment

Education & Experience
