Job summary

Prime Data Centers seeks an Electrical Engineer to support master planning, design reviews, and construction for its data center portfolio. You will work with senior engineers and suppliers on electrical system design, calculations, and cost analyses.

Responsibilities include design reviews, RFP assessments, owner reviews of deliverables, and on-site commissioning support. CAD/ETAP tools and industry codes like IBC/NEC are essential, with a focus on data center standards.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university.
• 3–6 years electrical engineering experience in mission-critical/data center or power-intensive facilities.
• E.I.T. certification or P.E. license (or active progress toward the P.E.).
• Proficiency in Bluebeam, Teams, Excel, and Word.
• Working knowledge of CAD software (AutoCAD, Revit, Navisworks) and power modelling software (SKM PTW, ETAP).
• Familiarity with IBC, NEC, and data center standards (ASHRAE TC9.9, BICSI).

Responsibilities

• Support master planning and concept designs for investment planning.
• Review RFPs for design services and assist in bid leveling.
• Provide owner review of design and construction deliverables (drawings, specs, submittals, RFIs).
• Develop SME expertise in electrical engineering.
• Flag deviations from standards and escalate to senior engineers.
• Research new designs and construction methods for data center electrical systems.
• Support ROI and simple payback analyses for recommendations.
• Review IAS sequences of operation and power distribution analyses.
• Attend design/construction meetings and participate in FWT.
• On-site commissioning support and emergency response as needed.
