Job summary

Caterpillar Electric Power Division seeks a qualified engineer to design, develop, and implement generator control switchgear systems. You will deliver automation and control solutions for complex power systems, handling retrofit and new projects from concept to commissioning.

You will work independently and with teams to identify opportunities, develop proposals, and ensure successful project execution, including training customers and technicians on maintenance and operation.

Qualifications

• Cross-functional collaboration with engineers, contractors, and end users.
• Experience with automation and controls: PLC-based systems, HMIs, distributed control systems.
• Ability to read electrical schematics and blueprints.

Responsibilities

• Identify retrofit opportunities with dealers and factory teams.
• Design, programming, testing, and commissioning of LV and MV generator paralleling control systems.
• Convert legacy PLC programs to current platforms and validate performance.
