Job summary

Capco Crane & Hoist, Inc. is seeking an Electrical Engineer to design, develop, and support electrical and control systems for our overhead crane applications. The role focuses on safety, reliability, and compliance with industry standards.

You will work with mechanical engineers and project teams to create schematics, program PLCs, implement VFD/HMI solutions, and support field installations, testing, and modernization projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 3–5 years of experience with industrial control systems, PLC programming, and motor control.
• Knowledge of CMAA, ASME B30, and crane-related standards.
• Ability to read and create electrical schematics using CAD software.
• Willingness to travel up to 20%.

Responsibilities

• Design electrical and electronic control systems for overhead cranes and material handling equipment.
• Develop and maintain electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and control system layouts.
• Program and implement PLC, VFD, and HMI solutions for crane applications.
• Specify electrical components including motors, brakes, limit switches, encoders, festoon systems, power feeds, and safety devices.
• Support modernization and retrofit projects involving controls, safety systems, and power distribution.
• Assist with final wiring, startup, testing, and commissioning of crane control panels and systems.
