Job summary

Konecranes is seeking a Project Engineer, Electrical to lead electrical design and control system implementation for electric overhead and portal cranes across Region Americas. You will select hardware, develop programs, and ensure proper documentation, testing, and commissioning.

Travel to customer sites is estimated at about 15%. The ideal candidate has a BS in Electrical Engineering and at least 2 years of experience in electrical/automation engineering, with PLC and VFD knowledge, and

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering required
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience as an Electrical or Automation engineer
  • Experience with motion and motor control products; VFDs and PLC programming knowledge
  • Ability to read electrical schematics and vendor drawings
  • Proficiency with SAP, AutoCAD, E3 and Microsoft Office

Responsibilities

  • Engineer design, testing and commissioning of crane control systems.
  • Perform tasks including component selection, schematic design, system layout, and automation programming.
  • Generate system architecture and automation network drawings.
  • Plan projects from inquiry through start-up and manage to budget.
  • Test and troubleshoot control systems.
