Job summary

Gibraltar US, Inc. seeks an Electrical Engineer to provide engineering and technical support for electrical systems on heavy civil and perimeter security construction projects.

You will assist with design, field inspections, testing, commissioning, and project documentation while coordinating with management, field teams, subcontractors, vendors, clients, and other engineering disciplines. Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering required.
• Experience in construction coordination, field inspections, testing, and commissioning preferred.
• Experience with RFIs, submittals, change orders, and technical calculations preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, review, and support electrical systems for construction projects.
• Prepare and review electrical drawings, schematics, and single-line diagrams.
• Perform electrical calculations (load, voltage drop, short circuit, grounding, sizing).
• Review drawings to identify design conflicts and constructability issues.
• Coordinate electrical requirements with civil, structural, mechanical, and other disciplines.
• Assist with material selection, procurement, and submittal reviews.
• Prepare responses to RFIs and change orders.
• Conduct field inspections to verify installations meet specs.
• Coordinate electrical construction activities with project teams and contractors.
• Monitor progress and identify technical or schedule issues.
• Support testing, startup, and commissioning of systems.
• Troubleshoot installation issues and recommend corrective actions.
• Ensure compliance with codes, standards, and safety requirements.
• Prepare reports, calculations, and project records.
• Assist with quantity takeoffs, cost estimates, and progress tracking.
• Track schedules using Primavera P6 or MS Project.
• Review contractor schedules and monitor critical activities.
• Support project closeout with as-built drawings and O&M manuals.
