Job summary

WSP in St. Louis, Missouri, is seeking an Electrical Engineer to join our Property & Buildings Team.

You will design electrical systems for commercial, healthcare, higher education, and civic facilities, collaborating with architects and engineers to deliver projects from concept through construction administration. The ideal candidate has a ABET‑accredited electrical engineering degree, 3–5 years of building electrical experience, and Revit/AutoCAD skills, with an EIT certification preferred.

Qualifications

• Design building electrical systems for commercial, healthcare, higher education, civic, and mixed-use facilities.
• Prepare electrical construction documents and specifications.
• Perform load calculations, voltage drop studies, short-circuit analyses, and coordination studies.
• Develop project designs and construction documentation using Revit, AutoCAD, and related software.
• Coordinate with architects, structural, mechanical, plumbing engineers, clients, and other stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Design and support the development of building electrical systems including: power distribution, lighting, lighting controls, emergency power, fire alarm, low-voltage systems.
• Prepare engineering calculations, technical specifications, reports, and construction documents.
• Develop project designs and construction documentation.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams and participate in project meetings.
• Review shop drawings, submittals, and RFIs; support project managers with scheduling and budgeting.
