Job summary

AECOM is seeking an Electrical Engineer based in Los Angeles, CA to contribute across design, analysis, and field measurements for energy-conserving projects. The role supports conceptual design through construction administration and post-occupancy activities.

The candidate will join a multidisciplinary team, gain field exposure, and advance decarbonization and electrification initiatives within sustainable building practices.

Qualifications

• BA/BS in Electrical Engineering or related field plus 4 years of related experience or equivalent
• ABET accreditation in degree is preferred
• FE/EIT certification is preferred

Responsibilities

• Electrical engineering support from conceptual design through construction administration and post-occupancy
• Performs specific and moderate portions of a broader assignment of an experienced engineer
• Gathers and correlates basic engineering data using established procedures
• Support in the review of shop drawings during construction administration
• Prepare engineering calculations and develop drawings and visual aids
• Write reports and memos for internal and external purposes based on findings
• Work cooperatively with managers and other employees to achieve company goals
• Ensure discipline plans meet project scope, quality and schedule
• Stay current on codes and technologies appropriate to the electrical disciplines
• Support on-site visits for data collection and evaluation of electrical systems and materials
• Develop designs within a BIM environment
• Complete assigned tasks in accordance with client criteria and codes
