Job summary

MissionHires is seeking an Electronics Engineer to design realistic circuit problems and evaluate AI model outputs against professional standards. You will critique derivations, assess component choices, and document failures with precise reasoning.

Ideal candidates have 2+ years in circuit/electronics engineering, strong analysis skills, and comfort with AI tools. A related degree is preferred but not required, and there is an emphasis on clear explanations of incorrect conclusions.

Qualifications

  • Fluency in English at native or bilingual level.
  • 2+ years of industry experience in circuit or electronics engineering.
  • Background in electrical/electronics engineering or closely related discipline.
  • Strong circuit analysis and design tradeoffs skills.
  • Ability to explain why an engineering answer is incorrect, not only identify that it is incorrect.
  • Comfort with AI tools or ability to learn them quickly.
  • Bachelor's degree in progress or completed preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Design challenging, realistic electrical and electronics engineering problems based on professional practice.
  • Run engineering problems through frontier AI models and evaluate outputs against standards.
  • Compare model versions using identical prompts and identify performance gaps.
  • Critique model-generated derivations, schematics, component selections, and calculations with reasoning.
  • Identify and document specific failures, including incorrect assumptions and sign or unit errors.
  • Contribute expertise across analog, RF and mixed-signal circuits, electromagnetics, power and energy systems.

Job description

When AI gets the details wrong in your field, real people pay for it. The people who know the work best have to be the ones training these models. You’re not being replaced by AI. You’re making sure it’s used accurately and safely.

How You'll Contribute
  • Design challenging, realistic electrical and electronics engineering problems based on professional practice, such as circuit specifications, control-loop stabilization, and power-stage sizing.
  • Run engineering problems through frontier AI models and evaluate outputs against professional engineering standards.
  • Compare model versions using identical prompts and identify which performs better and where each falls short.
  • Critique model-generated derivations, schematics, component selections, and calculations, documenting the reasoning behind evaluations.
  • Identify and document specific failures, including incorrect assumptions, sign or unit errors, unphysical results, invalid topologies, fabricated datasheet values, and off-brief interpretations.
  • Contribute expertise across applicable areas including analog, RF and mixed-signal circuits, electromagnetics and antennas, control and systems, devices and materials, signal processing, photonics, and power and energy systems.
What Makes You a Great Fit
  • Fluency in English at a native or bilingual level.
  • At least 2 years of industry experience in circuit or electronics engineering.
  • Background in electrical engineering, electronics engineering, or a closely related discipline.
  • Strong command of circuit analysis, design tradeoffs, and component-level and system-level decision-making.
  • Ability to clearly explain why an engineering answer is incorrect, not only identify that it is incorrect.
  • Comfort using AI tools or ability to learn them quickly.
  • A current, in-progress, or completed Bachelor's degree is preferred but not required.
  • Must be located in Australia, Canada, Ireland, New Zealand, the United Kingdom, or the United States.
  • Ability to receive payment through PayPal.
