Job description

Cullerton Group has a new opportunity for an Electrical Engineer 4. The work will be done onsite full-time in Aurora, IL, with up to 25% travel (domestic and international) as needed. This is a long-term 12-month position that can lead to permanent employment with our client. Compensation is up to $52.48/hr + full benefits (vision, dental, health insurance, 401k, and holiday pay).

Job Summary

We are seeking a senior-level Electrical Engineer to support the design, testing, validation, and troubleshooting of advanced electrical systems and components. This role focuses on hands-on engineering work across electrical design, lab testing, field issue resolution, and compliance-driven updates. The engineer will collaborate closely with control, validation, cooling, and product support teams in a fast-paced electrification environment, contributing directly to product quality, performance, and reliability.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, test, and update electrical systems, components, and equipment
  • Troubleshoot field and production issues in collaboration with product support teams
  • Perform end-of-line testing and support validation of electrical systems
  • Review, update, and release electrical designs, drawings, and component selections
  • Support compliance, safety, and reliability standards through testing and documentation
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (or related field)
  • 8+ years of professional electrical engineering experience (or MS with 4+ years)
  • Strong ability to read, create, and interpret engineering drawings and schematics
  • Hands-on experience with lab equipment, testing, and debugging electrical systems
  • Experience with engineering design tools and electrical simulation/testing software
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with power electronics, converters/inverters, or charging systems
  • Familiarity with electrical standards and compliance (UL, IEC, ISO)
  • Experience with EMI/EMC testing, thermal design, or embedded control systems
  • Strong mentoring, leadership, and cross-functional collaboration skills
