Job summary

The Judge Group is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to design, develop, and test electrical systems for advanced transportation and infrastructure projects in Bastrop, TX. The role emphasizes medium- and high-voltage power distribution, power electronics, automation, and cross-disciplinary integration.

You will work with mechanical, software, and civil teams to create robust electrical design, review SLDs and schematics, and participate in commissioning and safety compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in medium- and high-voltage power systems.
• Hands-on experience with transformers, switchgear, electrical panels, motors and motor control, and power distribution equipment.
• Strong analog and digital circuit design skills.
• Solid understanding of electrical safety practices and high-voltage systems.
• HV safety training and/or arc-flash certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and test electrical systems for transportation and industrial infrastructure projects.

About The Role

Our client is seeking a talented Electrical Engineer to support the design, development, and testing of electrical systems for advanced transportation and infrastructure projects. This role will focus on medium- and high-voltage power distribution systems, power electronics, industrial automation, and electrical integration across multidisciplinary engineering teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and test electrical systems for complex transportation and industrial infrastructure projects.
• Support the development of data acquisition (DAQ), power electronics, and control systems utilizing both custom and commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) solutions.
• Collaborate with mechanical, software, and civil engineering teams to integrate electrical systems into larger project designs.
• Develop and review power distribution architectures, single-line diagrams, and electrical schematics.
• Participate in system commissioning, troubleshooting, and performance validation activities.
• Ensure compliance with electrical safety standards and industry best practices.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in electrical engineering, focusing on medium- and high-voltage power systems.
• Hands-on experience with:
• Transformers
• Switchgear
• Electrical panels
• Motors and motor control systems
• Power distribution equipment
• Working knowledge of analog and digital circuit design.
• Strong understanding of electrical safety practices and high-voltage systems.

Preferred Qualifications

• Strong background in medium- and high-voltage power distribution design.
• Experience designing transformers, switchgear, HV panels, enclosures, and wiring/harness systems for industrial or rugged environments.
• Experience creating and interpreting electrical single-line diagrams (SLDs).
• Knowledge of PLCs, industrial automation, and DAQ technologies.
• Experience generating technical requirements and managing outsourced electrical design activities.
• CAD design experience.
• High Voltage Safety Training and/or Arc Flash Safety certification.
• Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
