Overview:

A prominent client in the Pittsburgh area is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer with a robust background in high power/high voltage systems. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in a manufacturing setting with three-phase power, 480KV systems, Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs) and other common equipment found in industrial manufacturing facilities. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic environment, contributing to innovative projects and ensuring the reliability and efficiency of electrical systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and maintain high power/high voltage electrical systems.
  • Work with three-phase power systems and 480KV systems.
  • Implement and troubleshoot Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs).
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate electrical systems into overall project designs.
  • Conduct research to determine design requirements and feasibility.
  • Prepare technical specifications, drawings, wiring diagrams, and schematics.
  • Select and source electrical components based on project requirements, cost-effectiveness, and reliability.
  • Test and evaluate electrical systems and components to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
  • Diagnose and resolve technical issues related to electrical systems and components.
  • Conduct electrical simulations, calculations, and modeling to recommend design modifications.
  • Monitor and maintain electrical systems during manufacturing and production processes.
  • Stay updated with new technologies and trends in electrical engineering.
  • Provide technical support to manufacturing, sales, and other internal teams.
  • Work within ERP systems to build and maintain bills of materials (BOMs).

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • Proven experience with high power/high voltage systems.
  • Strong background in three-phase power systems and 480KV systems.
  • Proficiency in working with Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs).
  • Experience in manufacturing environments.
  • Proficient in computer-aided design (CAD) software and other relevant software programs.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Familiarity with industry standards, regulations, and safety guidelines.
