Job summary

Solidus Technical Solutions, LLC is seeking a Digital Design Engineer to join our defense engineering team in Tucson, AZ. The role focuses on designing, developing, and validating digital circuitry and systems throughout the product lifecycle.

The ideal candidate will have deep experience in modern digital design methodologies, be detail-oriented, and collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to define requirements and architectures.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related STEM field required; Master’s degree is a plus.
• Experience in electronics circuit design for multi-assembly systems (PCIe, Ethernet, I2C, SPI, UART) and supporting layouts.
• Proficiency with electronic design and simulation tools for schematic, layout, and signal/power integrity analysis.
• Ability to develop and support complex, multi‑layer circuit card assemblies; active Secret clearance.

Responsibilities

• Create and analyze requirements for digital designs.
• Perform parts selection and trade studies for digital architectures.
• Design architectures with block diagrams and interface definitions.
• Capture schematics and contribute to physical layout processes.
• Lead lab checkout and integrate hardware using test plans and equipment.

Job description

This position requires onsite in Tucson, AZ and an active Secret security Clearance. Candidates who do not hold this clearance are not eligible for hire.

Solidus is seeking a skilled and collaborative Digital Design Engineer to join our defense engineering team.

The Digital Design Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, and implementing digital circuitry and systems that support the organization's hardware and technology initiatives. This role involves working closely with cross-functional engineering teams to define requirements, create efficient architectures, and validate digital components throughout the product lifecycle. The ideal candidate is detail‑oriented, highly analytical, and experienced in modern digital design methodologies.

Day In The Life

• Requirements Creation & Analysis


• Parts Selection & trade studies


• Architecture design - block diagrams, etc.


• Schematic Capture & Involvement with the Physical Layout process


• Lab checkout & integration of HW utilizing test plan and lab equipment


• Other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications & Experience

• 5 years of experience with a Bachelor's or entry level with a Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related STEM field


• Experience in the development and design of electronics circuit designs, multi-assembly system/unit design such as PCIe, Ethernet, I2C, SPI, and UART


• Proficiency with electronic design and simulation tools across schematic creation, layout, and signal/power integrity analysis


• Experience developing and supporting complex, multi‑layer circuit card assemblies


• Active Secret clearance
