Job summary

Design Engineers seeks an Electrical Engineer to design interior and exterior lighting, electrical distribution, and power systems for projects in the Cedar Rapids, IA and Madison, WI areas.

You will attend client meetings, perform system designs and calculations, and guide BIM technicians to produce drawings, coordinating with multiple disciplines to deliver integrated solutions.

Qualifications

• Proven ability to work cross-functionally with clients and design teams.
• Experience in electrical design for lighting, power, and low-voltage systems is preferred.
• Familiarity with SKM Power Tools, AGI32, and Revit is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Attend meetings with clients to establish needs and discuss design issues.

Position Type: In-Person/Full-Time

Position:

Electrical Engineering position involved with the investigation, design, and construction of building interior and exterior lighting, electrical distribution, and power systems.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Attend meetings and communicate with clients to establish their needs and discuss design issues with them.
• Undertake electrical systems design including power systems, lighting, fire alarm and other low voltage systems.
• Perform engineering calculations for power and lighting systems.
• Provide direction to designers and BIM technicians for preparation of drawings detailing the design.
• Coordinate work with Clients and design team members of other disciplines.
• Create/prepare reports.

Skills and Abilities needed for the position:

• Strong interest in other disciplines with the goal of developing integrated designs.

Education and Experience requirements:

• Bachelor of Science, Electrical Engineering
• Experience with design of lighting, power, fire alarm and low voltage systems desired.
• Experience with SKM Power Tools, AGI32 and Revit desired.
