Job summary

Design Engineers in Cedar Rapids, IA (and Madison, WI) is seeking an Electrical Engineer to design lighting, electrical distribution, and power systems for building interiors and exteriors. This in-person, full-time role collaborates with clients and the design team to deliver integrated electrical designs on award-winning projects.

The ideal candidate holds a BS in Electrical Engineering and has experience with lighting, power, fire alarm, and low-voltage systems, plus proficiency with SKM

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering required.
• Experience with lighting, power, fire alarm and low-voltage systems preferred.
• Familiarity with SKM Power Tools, AGI32 and Revit preferred.

Responsibilities

• Attend meetings with clients to establish needs and discuss design issues.
• Undertake electrical systems design including power systems, lighting, fire alarm and other low voltage systems.
• Perform engineering calculations for power and lighting systems.
• Provide direction to designers and BIM technicians for preparation of drawings detailing the design.
• Coordinate work with Clients and design team members of other disciplines.
• Create/prepare reports.

Position Type: In-Person/Full-Time

Position:

Electrical Engineering position involved with the investigation, design, and construction of building interior and exterior lighting, electrical distribution, and power systems.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Attend meetings and communicate with clients to establish their needs and discuss design issues with them.
• Undertake electrical systems design including power systems, lighting, fire alarm and other low voltage systems.
• Perform engineering calculations for power and lighting systems.
• Provide direction to designers and BIM technicians for preparation of drawings detailing the design.
