Job summary

Apogee Consulting Group seeks a seasoned Electrical Engineer to design and coordinate building electrical systems for healthcare and other facilities. You will develop high‑quality construction documents, lead design teams, and ensure code‑compliant, reliable power and lighting solutions.

The ideal candidate has 8+ years of licensed professional experience, a current PE license, and proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, MEP, and Trace 3D.

Qualifications

• Healthcare Experience is required.
• Minimum 8 years of related licensed professional experience.
• Current PE License is required; NCEES registration preferred.
• Licensure in at least one US state is expected.
• LEED/Green Globes or sustainability credentials preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design electrical systems for healthcare, commercial, municipal and office buildings with backup power and emergency systems.
• Direct designers and coordinate building designs to meet specs and codes.
• Ensure construction, installation and testing comply with NFPA70 and NEC.
• Develop construction documents and specifications using CAD/CAAD tools.
• Model and analyze power distribution and life-safety systems; coordinate with other disciplines.

We are seeking a motivated and talented Electrical Engineer to design and coordinate building electrical systems while developing high-quality construction documents. Key Responsibilities

• Designs electrical systems for healthcare, commercial, municipal, office buildings with backup and emergency power systems, including generators, uninterruptable power supplies, and automatic transfer switches.
• Designs and directs designers in the creation of building designs.
• Directs activities to ensure that construction, installation, and operational testing conform to specifications and requirements.
• Uses computer assisted engineering and design software to perform engineering tasks.
• Designs the modeling and analysis of normal and emergency power distribution systems, the design of life safety systems, the design and modeling of lighting and associated control systems, and coordination with other design professionals.
• Designs lighting control systems that comply with LEED, Energy Star, and similar energy efficient programs.
• Make equipment and fixture selections
• Perform field investigations and site visits
• Serves as Engineer of Record with directing and mentoring designers
• Develop construction documents and specifications
• Follows the NFPA70 (NEC) and other electrical industry codes, standards and recommended practices.
• Healthcare Experience is required
• Experience: minimum 8 years’ related experience as a licensed professional
• Computer Skills: Revit, Auto CAD, MEP, MS Office Suite, Trace 3D
• Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (ABET‑accredited)
• Licenses/Certifications:
• Current PE License (required)
• NCEES Registration
• Licensed in at least one U.S. state
• LEED, Green Globes, or other sustainability credentials (Preferred)
