Job summary

Apogee Consulting Group in the United States is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to design and coordinate building electrical systems for healthcare, commercial, and municipal projects. You will develop high-quality construction documents, lead designers, and ensure code-compliant, reliable power and life-safety systems.

  • LEED, Green Globes, or other sustainability credentials preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Design electrical systems for healthcare, commercial, municipal buildings with backup and emergency power.
  • Direct designers and coordinate construction documents and project deliverables.
  • Ensure conformance to NFPA70 (NEC) and other electrical codes and standards.
  • Develop life safety systems, lighting controls, and power distribution models.
  • Perform field investigations and site visits; provide engineering oversight as Engineer of Record.

We are seeking a motivated and talented Electrical Engineer to design and coordinate building electrical systems while developing high-quality construction documents. The ideal candidate brings strong technical expertise, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills, with a passion for collaboration, innovation, and delivering practical, reliable, and code-compliant solutions. Success in this role requires a commitment to excellence, continuous learning, and exceptional client service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Designs electrical systems for healthcare, commercial, municipal, office buildings with backup and emergency power systems, including generators, uninterruptable power supplies, and automatic transfer switches.
  • Designs and directs designers in the creation of building designs.
  • Directs activities to ensure that construction, installation, and operational testing conform to specifications and requirements.
  • Uses computer assisted engineering and design software to perform engineering tasks.
  • Designs the modeling and analysis of normal and emergency power distribution systems, the design of life safety systems, the design and modeling of lighting and associated control systems, and coordination with other design professionals.
  • Designs lighting control systems that comply with LEED, Energy Star, and similar energy efficient programs.
  • Make equipment and fixture selections
  • Perform field investigations and site visits
  • Serves as Engineer of Record with directing and mentoring designers
  • Develop construction documents and specifications
  • Follows the NFPA70 (NEC) and other electrical industry codes, standards and recommended practices.
Healthcare Experience Is Required

Experience: minimum 8 years’ related experience as a licensed professional

Computer Skills: Revit, Auto CAD, MEP, MS Office Suite, Trace 3D

Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (ABET‑accredited)

  • Licensed in at least one U.S. state
  • LEED, Green Globes, or other sustainability credentials (Preferred)

Travel: up to 20% depending on project

Salary Range

$110-160,000K

This position will be in the office in an open office work environment with flexibility
