Job summary

Apogee Consulting Group, a healthcare-focused Architecture and Engineering firm, is seeking an Electrical Designer to design and coordinate building electrical systems from concept through construction. The role emphasizes collaboration, quality, and code-compliant solutions in a full-service design environment.

You will produce construction drawings, support project delivery, and collaborate with engineers and other disciplines while advancing your Revit proficiency and industry knowledge.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field.
  • Minimum four years of progressive electrical/technology design experience.
  • Proficiency with Revit and AutoCAD MEP.
  • Knowledge of NEC and NFPA standards.
  • LEED, RCDD, CEM, LC or other certifications preferred.
  • Willingness to travel up to 20%.

Responsibilities

  • Assist electrical engineers and designers in developing building electrical and technology system designs.
  • Designs and produces construction drawings for power distribution, lighting, grounding, and low-voltage systems.
  • Coordinate with other disciplines and perform field investigations.
  • Review product data submittals and support construction period services.
  • Maintain Revit models and prepare schematics.

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Electrical Designer to design and coordinate building electrical systems, prepare construction drawings, and support project delivery from concept through construction. The ideal candidate combines technical proficiency with critical thinking and collaboration skills to develop innovative, efficient, and code-compliant solutions. Success in this role requires a dedication to quality, continuous learning, and providing outstanding service to clients and project teams.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist electrical engineer, RCDD and other designers in developing building electrical and technology system designs by performing the following duties.
  • Has knowledge of electrical and technology designs.
  • Designs and produces construction drawings for power distribution systems, lighting layouts and controls, grounding systems, and low-voltage systems such as fire alarm, nurse call, telecommunications distribution, and security and surveillance.
  • Produces detailed construction plans and schematics via computer aided software.
  • Requires knowledge of electrical equipment, the NEC and other NFPA standards.
  • Familiar with a variety of electrical system concepts, practices, and procedures.
  • Perform field investigations and construction site visits.
  • Coordinate with other disciplines.
  • High level of Revit proficiency.
  • Review product data submittals and perform other construction period services.
Healthcare Experience Is Preferred
  • Computer Skills: Revit, Auto CAD MEP, MS Office Suite
  • Education: Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university, preferably in engineering; or,
  • Experience: Minimum four years of progressive electrical and/or technology design experience.
  • Licenses/Certifications:
  • Passed Fundamentals of Engineering Exam (FE) and working toward professional licensure (PE) preferred.
  • LEED, RCDD, CEM, LC or other professional certification preferred.
  • Travel: up to 20% depending on project
Salary Range

$80-100K
