Title: Interconnection Engineer / Power System / Electrical Engineer

Location: Remote (PST hours)

Duration: 12+ Months

Description:

1. Assist engineers in performing load interconnection studies, battery energy storage system charging table studies, and generation interconnection studies.
2. Review Generation Interconnection Requests under the WDAT and Rule 21 Tariff, ensuring completeness and appropriateness of technical data for studies. Evaluate Rule 21 or WDAT screens to determine if further studies are needed, including power flow, short-circuit duty, voltage analysis, and other relevant technical analyses to ensure safe and reliable interconnection.
3. Review load interconnection studies on existing electrical infrastructure, determine capacity requirements, and identify potential system enhancements.
4. Perform Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) charging table studies, run cases, post-process results, and develop charging availability tables.
5. Create one-line diagrams, study reports, and review Generation Interconnection Agreements as needed.

Required Skills/Attributes

1. Proficiency in PSLF, PowerWorld, and Excel; ability to articulate results clearly.
2. Experience with power system analysis studies, including power flow and short-circuit analysis. Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Visio.
3. Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or equivalent.

Desired Skills/Attributes

1. Experience with load and generation interconnection studies, including power flow and short-circuit analysis.
2. Experience reviewing Net Energy Metering (NEM) projects, knowledge of Rule 21 Tariff and WDAT.
3. Knowledge of Google Earth Pro and power system analysis software (GE PSLF, PowerWorld, CAPE).

Education Requirement

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or similar discipline required.
