As a Process Controls Design Engineer, you will play a hands-on role in designing and building advanced control systems for material handling and process equipment in the life sciences and chemical industries.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with project managers to review and interpret user requirements.
• Create detailed Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs).
• Select and specify instrumentation tailored to each unique system.
• Design control panels for electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
• Design electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic schematics.
• Design equipment network architecture.
• Perform other tasks as assigned by your supervisor from time to time.
  
  

Essential Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or related engineering field.
• 5+ years of relevant work experience designing control systems.
• Familiarity with Allen Bradley Products.
• Proven experience in designing electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
• Proven experience in designing VFD and Motor control.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Teams, Visio).
• Proficiency in AutoCAD Electrical.
• Familiarity with Autodesk Inventor.

Work Environment

This role involves prolonged periods sitting or standing at a desk and working on a computer. Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times. Willingness to travel (5%-10%). The position offers a hybrid work arrangement, allowing for residence in the Chicago or St. Louis area.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $45.00 - $62.00/hr.
