Job summary

RoyOMartin seeks an experienced Electrical Engineer to design and support electrical systems for manufacturing operations. You will lead projects, manage budgets, troubleshoot equipment, and ensure safety compliance.

You will mentor plant electricians, maintain NFPA 70E compliance, and coordinate with vendors to implement new technologies. Strong PLC/automation experience is required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
  • Five or more years of electrical/controls/automation experience in manufacturing preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of AC/DC power and low-voltage motor control systems.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as electrical SME and technical resource across the facility.
  • Analyze and troubleshoot complex electrical power and control system issues.
  • Design, coordinate, and commission electrical and controls projects.
  • Develop and manage electrical project schedules, budgets, contractors, and capex.
  • Support and maintain Allen-Bradley PLCs, VFDs, servo systems, HMIs, and industrial networks.
  • Maintain Rockwell AOP, EDS, and firmware files.
  • Maintain RoyOMartin electrical specs, drawings, and documentation.
  • Develop preventive maintenance programs for electrical equipment.

Job description

Electrical Engineer designs and supports electrical systems for manufacturing operations, managing projects and budgets, troubleshooting equipment issues, ensuring code and safety compliance, and leading preventive maintenance and continuous improvement initiatives.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Serve as an electrical subject matter expert and technical resource to departments throughout the facility
  • Analyze and troubleshoot complex electrical power and control system issues
  • Design, coordinate, and commission electrical and controls projects
  • Develop and manage electrical project schedules, budgets, contractors, and capital projects
  • Support and maintain Allen-Bradley PLCs, variable frequency drives (VFDs), servo systems, HMIs, and industrial networks
  • Maintain Rockwell AOP, EDS, and firmware files
  • Maintain RoyOMartin electrical specifications, drawings, and technical documentation
  • Work with the electrical department to develop and maintain preventive maintenance programs for electrical equipment
  • Mentor, train, and provide technical assistance to plant electricians
  • Maintain plant arc flash studies and documentation and support compliance with NFPA 70E requirements
  • Perform or support short circuit studies and protective device coordination
  • Support process instrumentation, including pressure, temperature, and flow measurement systems
  • Work with vendors and technical partners to evaluate and implement new technologies
Job Experience
  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, or a related discipline
  • Five or more years of electrical, controls, or automation experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment preferred
  • Strong working knowledge of AC and DC power and control circuits and low-voltage motor control systems
  • Experience with three-phase 15kV and 480V switchgear
  • Experience with Allen-Bradley PLCs, VFDs, servo systems, and HMI programming
  • Experience with PLC networking and industrial network switches
  • Working knowledge of NFPA 70E arc flash requirements
  • Experience with AutoCAD and electrical drawings
  • Knowledge of short circuit studies and protective device coordination
  • Experience with process instrumentation, including pressure, temperature, and flow measurement
  • Experience managing electrical projects, contractors, and commissioning activities
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products
  • Experience with Maximo and QlikView is a plus
