Qualifications

• Experience with CAD/3D modeling for electromechanical design.
• Strong understanding of electronic component specs, datasheets, and lifecycle management.
• Familiarity with firmware/hardware integration and embedded systems.
• Knowledge of IPC standards IPC-2221/2222, IPC-A-610, IPC-7351, IPC J-STD-001.
• Experience with PLM/PDM and change management processes.
• DFM/DFT principles.

Job description

Position: Electrical Engineer - Hardware Sustaining & Test Engineering

Location: New York, NY (Onsite)

Exp: 4-8 years

Ideal candidate profile: 4-8 years in hardware/EE with hands-on component engineering experience in consumer electronics or wearables. Bonus if they've worked in an NPI (New Product Introduction) environment where they've seen products go from prototype to mass production.

Education: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or related field (Master's preferred).

Experience: 4+ years of experience in hardware sustaining engineering, product engineering, or test engineering in a consumer electronics or hardware manufacturing environment.

• Must Have: Electronic Component Engineering. This person should be an expert at working with individual electronic parts (chips, resistors, capacitors, connectors, sensors, etc.) that go onto a circuit board. Specifically, Reading & interpreting datasheets, Component lifecycle management and Component selection & qualification
• Proficiency in schematic capture and PCB layout tools (Altium, Cadence OrCAD, or equivalent)
• Experience with CAD/3D modeling tools for electromechanical design
• Strong understanding of electronic component specifications, datasheets, and lifecycle management
• Familiarity with firmware/hardware integration and embedded systems
• Understanding of quality tools: 8D, FMEA, fishbone diagrams, 5-Why analysis
• Familiarity with IPC standards (IPC-2221/2222, IPC-A-610, IPC-7351, IPC J-STD-001) for PCB design and manufacturing
• Experience with PLM/PDM systems and formal change management processes
• Experience with DFM/DFT (Design for Manufacturing/Test) principles
