Overview

The Electrical Engineer performs routine to moderately complex engineering assignments involving the evaluation, selection, ordering, installation, setup, modification, testing, troubleshooting, performance improvement, and establishment of maintenance procedures for a wide range of production equipment. This role also includes the installation and optimization of electronic control systems and instrumentation used to automate and monitor industrial processes, including system configuration utilizing PLC and HMI technologies.

Responsibilities
  • Evaluates, selects, orders, installs, and sets up equipment used in the manufacture of one or more similar products.
  • Recommends equipment modifications to improve production efficiencies, manufacturing techniques, and production yields for existing products.
  • Coordinates the installation, modification and testing of manufacturing equipment and/or electronic control systems; troubleshoots routine to moderately complex manufacturing equipment problems.
  • Investigates and determines the root cause of equipment failures and problems and recommends countermeasures; analyzes and identifies modifications that can be made to improve equipment performance and reliability.
  • Designs and fabricates, or arranges for external fabrication of, new and replacement parts.
  • Creates, writes, and modifies preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, startup, technician qualification, and other procedures.
  • Conducts research, compiles data, and prepares reports.
  • Prepares and delivers presentations.
  • Prepares training materials and trains production and maintenance personnel on the usage and maintenance of equipment.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related technical field, with 2–4 years of experience in manufacturing equipment engineering.
  • Practical knowledge of applying engineering principles and technology to the production of diverse products.
  • Familiarity with machines and tools, including design, operation, repair, and maintenance.
  • Strong analytical, problem‑solving, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Solid mathematical skills and intermediate proficiency in Excel and other applications.
