Job summary

LeoForce seeks an experienced Electrical Engineer in Knoxville, TN to support and optimize electrical systems across our mining operations. You will design, install, and maintain critical equipment while upholding safety and environmental standards.

Required: 5–10 years in electrical maintenance, a Bachelor’s in electrical engineering, and proficiency with SAP, MS Office, and ETAP. You will lead technicians, drive maintenance programs, and coordinate with suppliers and operations to achieve

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering is required.
  • Appropriate trade or related qualification in maintenance of mechanical and electrical equipment or related discipline.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of mine power distribution circuits, ground systems knowledge, grounding, ground monitoring and neutral grounding circuits preferred.
  • 5-10 years’ experience in electrical maintenance, within a mining, construction, or OEM environment.
  • 5 years’ experience in a supervisor or manager role preferred.
  • Experience in leading others, with exposure to current leadership theory and team management practice preferred.
  • Proficiency in SAP, MS Office Suite, and ETAP preferred.
  • Demonstrated high regard for safe-working rules and procedures, with evidence of careful consideration of risk-factors in undertaking any initiative.
  • Proven orientation to results with ability to maintain focus on key areas.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain effective short and long-term maintenance of mechanical and electrical equipment.
  • Monitor for effective preventative and breakdown mechanical and electrical maintenance procedures.
  • Consulting with warehouse and suppliers regarding parts and consumables requirements and plans.
  • Continually reviewing the most appropriate mechanical and electrical maintenance methods, equipment, and plans.
  • Effectively coordinating mechanical and electrical maintenance personnel.
  • Monitoring actual performance against targets and taking corrective action to maintain targets.
  • Reviewing and implementing new techniques and procedures that will streamline mechanical and electrical maintenance processes.
  • Submission of proposals for more effective and efficient procedures and methods.
  • Actively participate in the Maintenance team to support and promote agreed decisions of the department.

Responsibilities
  • Safety, Health & Environment:
  • Promote awareness and comply with site standards and procedures in EHS.
  • Demonstrate effective performance in achieving agreed EHS goals in support of the department, site, and company standards.
  • Demonstrates leadership in EHS through personal behaviors and conversations and ensuring that the Asset Management team reports all EHS incidents and participates in EHS initiatives.
  • Provide clear expectations on performance in EHS through setting objectives in EHS for employees and contractors.
  • Function/ Production:
  • Maintaining effective short and long–term maintenance of mechanical and electrical equipment.
  • Monitoring for effective preventative and breakdown mechanical and electrical maintenance procedures.

  • Actively participate in the Maintenance team to support and promote agreed decisions of the department.
  • Provide and ensure effective leadership, performance management, career development, and succession planning of section personnel.
  • Ensure deployment and skill level requirements of section personnel are maintained to enable achievement of the annual plan.
  • Ensure effective discipline, communication, and relationships within the team and between teams.
  • Consistently apply Workplace Management Procedures to ensure compliance with policies, procedures, and visions and values.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering is required.
  • Appropriate trade or related qualification in maintenance of mechanical and electrical equipment or related discipline.

  • Well-developed communication and people skills and a collaborative approach to the achievement of tasks.
  • Proficiency in relevant software, to include SAP, MS Office Suite, and ETAP preferred.
  • Demonstrated high regard for safe-working rules and procedures, with evidence of careful consideration of risk-factors in undertaking any initiative.
  • Proven orientation to results with ability to maintain focus on key areas.
