Job summary

Morgan Olson is seeking an Electrical Engineer to support R&D and launch electrical components and systems for our walk-in van bodies. This role collaborates with engineers, customers, and suppliers to deliver robust electrical solutions and ensure compliance with specifications.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in electrical systems for vehicles, strong CAD skills, and a commitment to quality and safety in a lean manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, or two-year technical degree and a minimum of 5 years of practical and relevant experience.
  • Proven ability to navigate and modify components and assemblies within 3D CAD software.
  • Familiarity with common problem-solving techniques and tools such as A3, 8D or similar.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
  • Experience with vehicle electrical/HVAC/Wiper systems, software, and vehicle diagnostics is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with engineers, customers, suppliers and others on projects.
  • Design, implement, test, and improve electrical systems and components.
  • Operate CAD software to perform engineering tasks.
  • Provide hands-on support for manufacturing and testing activities.
  • Apply electrical theory to projects and calculations.
  • Compute standards and specifications for manufacturing, construction, and installation.
  • Inspect installations and monitor operation.
  • Support Lean initiatives and continuous improvement.
  • Adhere to Quality policy and safety standards 100% of the time.
  • Wiring and troubleshooting electrical systems as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Job Title: Electrical Engineer
Job Description:

Supports R&D team to develop, validate, integrate, and successfully launch electrical components and systems to support NPD business customer requirements.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND ACTIVITIES:
  • Confer with engineers, customers, suppliers and others to discuss existing or potential engineering projects and products.
  • Design, implement, maintain, test and improve electrical instruments, equipment, facilities, components, products, and systems.
  • Operate CAD software and equipment to perform engineering tasks.
  • Capable of hands-on support of manufacturing, construction, installation, maintenance, support, documentation, and testing activities to ensure compliance with specifications, codes.
  • Executes research methodology and procedures to apply principles of electrical theory to engineering projects.
  • Perform detailed calculations to compute and establish manufactured, construction, and installation standards and specification.
  • Inspect completed installations and observe operation.
  • Supports and participates in Morgan Olson’s Lean System processes.
  • Adheres to Quality policy by exceeding customer expectations, being customer focused and supporting continuous improvement activities.
  • Adheres to Safety policies and practices behavioral based safety 100% of the time.
  • Capable of electrical wiring and system problem solving and troubleshooting of electrical components and systems.
  • Other duties as assigned.
