Sr. Electrical Liaison Engineer
Role Overview:
The Sr. Electrical Liaison Engineer serves as the critical bridge between engineering design, manufacturing, and quality control for our low-voltage power distribution equipment. This role will ensure manufacturing feasibility of designs, provide on-site technical support, and drive continuous improvement in our production processes. The position requires strong hands-on engineering expertise combined with excellent communication skills to facilitate collaboration across departments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide real-time technical support to manufacturing teams during assembly of complex electrical equipment
- Review engineering designs for manufacturability and provide feedback to design engineering teams
- Develop and implement point-to-point wiring documentation and processes
- Troubleshoot electrical issues on the production floor and implement solutions
- Assist in quality control inspections and resolution of non-conformances
- Collaborate with electrical engineers to improve design standards and manufacturing processes
- Create and maintain technical documentation including wiring diagrams, assembly instructions, and test procedures
- Train production personnel on proper assembly techniques and quality standards
- Support implementation of AutoCAD Electrical and other design tools
- Interface between remote engineering teams and on-site manufacturing operations
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance production efficiency and product quality
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
- 5+ years of experience in power distribution equipment manufacturing or field service
- Strong knowledge of NEC, UL, and NEMA standards (especially UL 891/1558)
- Experience with low-voltage switchgear, switchboards, and control systems
- Proficiency with electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and control circuit design
- Hands-on troubleshooting skills for complex electrical systems
- Familiarity with AutoCAD Electrical or similar design software
- Understanding of manufacturing processes for electrical equipment
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with custom-engineered and engineer-to-order products
- Background in data center power distribution equipment
- Knowledge of PLCs and control systems
- Experience implementing or improving manufacturing documentation
- Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles
- Previous experience in a liaison role between engineering and manufacturing
