Job summary

MOHR Talent is seeking an Electrical Engineer to join a growing multidisciplinary team supporting K-12, municipal, institutional, and commercial building projects across Mississippi and the Gulf Coast.

The role emphasizes hands-on electrical design and construction drawings in an MEP/building-design environment, with opportunities for project ownership and client responsibilities. Requires 4+ years of experience and strong AutoCAD skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Approximately 4+ years of electrical design experience preferred.
• Strong hands-on AutoCAD drafting/design experience.
• Building electrical systems design experience.
• Working knowledge of the NEC.
• Experience with power distribution, lighting, one-lines, and panel schedules.
• Ability to personally produce electrical drawings rather than solely review work completed by others.

Responsibilities

• Personally develop electrical drawings using AutoCAD and/or Revit.
• Design power distribution, lighting, fire alarm, and low-voltage systems.
• Develop one-line diagrams, branch circuits, and panel schedules.
• Perform lighting calculations and electrical load calculations.
• Prepare electrical specifications and construction documents.
• Conduct site visits and field investigations.
• Coordinate designs with architectural, mechanical, and structural teams.
• Support short-circuit, coordination, and arc-flash studies.
• Review submittals and provide construction-phase engineering support.
• Manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.

Electrical Engineer – MEP / Building Systems

Location: Gulfport, MS 39501
Salary: $90,000–$110,000+ DOE
Schedule: Full-Time

We are seeking a hands-on Electrical Engineer to join a growing multidisciplinary engineering team supporting K-12, municipal, institutional, commercial, and other building projects throughout Mississippi and the Gulf Coast.

This position is ideal for an engineer coming from an MEP consulting, A&E, or building-design environment who enjoys personally developing electrical designs and construction drawings.

Responsibilities

• Personally develop electrical drawings using AutoCAD and/or Revit
• Design power distribution, lighting, fire alarm, and low-voltage systems
• Develop one-line diagrams, branch circuits, and panel schedules

• FE/EIT/PE or interest in pursuing PE licensure

This is an opportunity to remain technically hands-on while growing into greater project ownership and client responsibility within an expanding MEP team.

Compensation: $90,000–$110,000+ depending on experience, plus benefits including health insurance, 401(k) match, PTO, paid holidays, professional development, and relocation assistance.
