Job summary

DesignForce is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to join their DMV-based MEP team on data centers and multi-family projects. You will lead project execution, coordinate with clients and designers, and deliver high-quality electrical designs across drawings, specs, and calculations.

The ideal candidate has 4–8 years in an MEP environment, PE preferred, and proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, and Bluebeam. Hybrid work environment with strong professional development opportunities.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent) from an accredited university.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical systems, documentation, specifications, and construction.
  • Experience in MEP firm or related industry is desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate with the client and design team to ensure a fully coordinated design and track project schedules.
  • Prepare high-quality MEP drawings, specifications, and technical reports with cross-discipline coordination.
  • Perform photometric, load, fault current, and other calculations to support electrical design.
  • Ensure efficient project completion and review deliverables throughout the project.
  • Work with vendors and manufacturers’ reps for equipment selection and specification.
  • Participate in the CA phase including submittal reviews and RFIs.

Key Responsibilities

As a Senior Electrical Engineer, this individual will lead project execution by utilizing their skills to complete the following:

  • Coordinate with the client and the entire design team, including owners, architects, contractors, and internal team to ensure a fully coordinated design. Develop, track, and maintain project schedules to ensure deliverables are completed to ensure client expectations are met.
  • Prepare high-quality MEP documents, including drawings, specifications, and technical reports, and ensure coordination with all disciplines.
  • Execute photometric calculations, load calculations, fault current, and any other calculations required to support electrical design.
  • Ensure efficient project completion and review deliverables throughout the project.
  • Work closely with equipment vendors and manufacturers’ representatives for the selection and specification of appropriate equipment.
  • Participate in the CA phase of the project, including submittal reviews and RFI responses.
  • Analyze electrical engineering problems as they arise and formulate solutions.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent) from an accredited university.
  • 4 to 8 years of experience working at an MEP firm or related industry.
  • Licensed Professional Engineer preferred.
  • Advanced proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, and Bluebeam.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical systems, documentation, specifications, and construction.
