Job summary

TECHEAD is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer for a direct hire onsite role in the Dayton, OH area. The successful candidate will design electrical and communications systems for vehicles, perform analyses, and support integration and testing across multi-functional teams.

Responsibilities include documenting designs, presenting to customers, and producing technical white papers. A BS or MS in electrical engineering with 4+ years of relevant experience is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in electrical/electromechanical engineering with 4+ years of experience.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, including design documentation.
• Solid working knowledge of MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio).
• Experience in military or commercial vehicle systems, control systems, power distribution and conversion, safety systems.

• Contribute to concept development with cross-functional teams including prototyping and production support.

Direct Hire / Onsite (Dayton, OH area)

Salary Range: $85k - $105k (commensurate with experience)

Techead is partnering with our aerospace and defense client to help them hire an experienced Electrical Engineer for a full-time position in the Dayton area.

As an electrical engineer, you will perform a variety of assignments including conceptual design, engineering analysis, detailed sub-system electrical design, integration, test, and manufacturing and field support. A strong candidate will possess a broad range of engineering skills. You will have the opportunity to work in a multi-functional team environment with a diverse array of exciting technologies and products that directly support our nation’s war fighters.

Responsibilities

• Perform detailed design of integrated electrical and communications systems on vehicles.
• Perform analysis, integration, and testing.
• Contribute to concept development as part of internal cross-functional design teams, including prototyping and production support.
• Prepare high-quality formal engineering documentation such as drawings, presentations, specifications, and design presentations to customers.
• Will produce technical white papers and brief management/customers on planning and progress.
• Prepare and/or manage design change documentation via Engineering Change Notices/Engineering Change Proposals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s and/or master’s degree in electrical engineering, electro-mechanical engineering, or a related field with 4 years of experience.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including preparation of design documentation.
• Solid working knowledge of Microsoft Office products (i.e., Outlook, Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, and Visio).
• Design and integration experience in some or all of the following systems below:
  • Military and/or commercial vehicle systems
  • Control systems
  • Power distribution and conversion systems
  • Safety systems
• Design and integration experience in some or all of the products and practices below is preferred/a plus:
  • Hardware Safety and Risk analysis
  • EMI/EMC, grounding, and environmental control
  • Hardware Environmental and Electromagnetic qualification to military standards
  • GPS and RF communication systems integration
  • AC and DC power and motors, motor controllers, and brakes
  • Ethernet and networking, RS232/422, CAN bus
  • Grounding and environmental control
  • Test equipment such as electronic load banks, power supplies, signal generators, oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, digital multimeters, and isolation meters
